A New York-based brand guru, visual thinker, design visionary and serial entrepreneur, Van helps startup CEOs and small business owners rethink, revitalize and repackage their brands so they show up, stand out, stake out their territory – and impact their bottom line – in ways they’d never thought possible.

With a global perspective, she’s infused the industry with her signature style and innovative thinking: She knows what makes brands tick, favors bold and provocative messaging and tends to break the rules when it comes to helping entrepreneurs live out loud in their brands – and in their business.

As Founder and Brand Analyst of A New Brand Landscape & Co., Van recently launched an offshoot called Zing Your Brand which is all about discovering your irresistible ‘zing factor’ – that creative spark at the very core of every entrepreneur – embedding it in your brand, and then building your entire business around it.


As Founder, CEO and Executive Creative Director of an award-winning branding and communication design agency (1991-2005) with offices in New York and Sydney, Australia, Van consulted on branding campaigns, design culture and advertising for Fortune 500 clients across four continents - US, China, Australia and Europe.

In 1997, she initiated her agency’s global start-up division where she led the national strategic brand campaigns for the launch of People Magazine in Australia, the Macau International Airport in China and the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia.

Best known for her global marketing expertise in brand communication, storytelling and image development, Van’s creative insights, peripheral vision and passion are exactly what entrepreneurs crave to make their brand dreams come true – particularly when it comes to landing a coveted spot on the 21C new brand landscape.


Van is a good example of culture fusion. Born in Maracaibo, Venezuela, she grew up in Canada, The Netherlands and then Sydney, Australia where the art of maverick thinking determined the way she'd see the world.

In 2000, she moved to New York to run the US office. Five years later, she sold her award-winning agency and ever since, she's been teaching entrepreneurs how to show up in their business brands to impact their bottom line – and have more fun! For the rest of 2009, Van and her artist-husband are dividing their time between living on the Brooklyn waterfront and urban Washington, D.C.
